I thought these were ugly since day one. The Expedition was a much better looking SUV IMO.

The 98-02? I’m not so sure.
The 03-06, however, definitely has.

If you’re thinking about getting one lowered, just be patient. It’ll happen.

It looks exactly like every other urban assault vehicle produced by the big 3. Only kinda worse.

Just the right amount of angularity with a hint of rounded, it doesn’t follow either trend, so time is kind to it.

I still love the rear windows on these. Why aren’t manufactures making such huge awesome rear glass anymore?

Did you post the wrong link or something? I’m seeing a video about the 1998 Lincoln Navigator. Maybe the Kinja A/B testing messed something up??

probably too expensive to make them as separate hatches? i love my tailgate for that same reason. being able to open just the back glass is a lot easier than the whole tailgate, especially when you dont want to run the risk of things rolling out when you open it

Splitgate bestgate. second best is separate hatch glass.

Yep, our ‘02 Explorer is the same way. A great feature when you either haul long cargo that can stick out the back (a ladder was the most recent) and being able to open the back without having to open the whole hatch. Especially when you’re tall like I am, the glass
opens higher than the hatch.

thats fair, cause the splitgate then gives you a bench to sit on haha

It’s just you ;). But doesn’t hurt that they didn’t make many drastic changes over the years.

I’d say the 03-06s are the ones that aged really well. The design still looks pretty current while the 98s have a very “90s” look to them.

I like it’s sister car better. My 97 Expedition still looks good if you ignore the bent bumper lol

All BMW Tourings still have that feature. Pictured is the current 5 series.

All of these Ford SUVs look exactly the same to me. Nothing wrong with that, they are attractive enough, though it’s a little weird across brands.
